It was so fun to watch the 2008 Summer Olympics this month. I really enjoyed the swimming, diving and gymnastics. It was fun to know there was something good to watch for at least part of the day. The only down side is I wanted to see many of these events LIVE and they weren’t shown Live on the West Coast. I could kick NBC execs for that!
But other than that, it was a cool experience. I discovered people like swimmer Ryan Lochte, gymnast Nastia Liukin and divers Guo Jingjing and Chen Ruolin. So it’ll be cool to see them perform in the future. Well, Guo isn’t sure whether or not she’ll retire from diving. Hopefully she won’t retire, but only if she’s truly happy diving.
Anyway, while I miss the Olympics, I guess it’s best that it’s over, because the new fall schedule for many TV shows is coming. I’m looking forward to TV shows like The Office. So I wouldn’t want the Olympics to interrupt my favorite TV shows anyway.

There are so many ways to learn different languages. One good way is watching DVDs of my favorite movies and choosing Spanish or French as the audio and/or subtitles.
Yesterday I watched part of Transformers and set the subtitles to Spanish and just read from there as I listened to the movie. And I learned a few words just from that. So, I’m going to keep that up and also learn from language software like Transparent Language: Learn NOW!
I’ve started Spanish already, but I’ll be starting French soon as well.

Dan! Dan! Dan! Yeah that’s right! Crazy Dan! On the Tuesday night (July 26th) episode of Big Brother, Dan was being a major tool! So much so that I lost some “love” for him.
If the deal he made was Ollie wasn’t bad enough, Dan then tries to be Mr. Puppet Master or something by getting the houseguest to play some silly Roulette game called Replacement Nominee Roulette, during the Power of Veto (POV) ceremony.
I was so annoyed with Dan for the rest of the night and most of yesterday. But I did find out that he gave Keesha and Renny the option of not playing the POV Russian Roulette game, but I think by then they were already to intimidated not to go along with it. And at the POV ceremony he said that whoever didn’t go along with it would be put up on the block. That is was got me so annoyed with him. What a toolish thing to do! On his HOH blog, Dan writes that the POV ceremony didn’t go over so well. So at least he knows it was a dumb thing to do!
So anyway, Michelle and Jerry are on the block and one of them is set to go home tonight. I like Michelle and want her to stay over Jerry. She’s supposedly been doing a lot of trash talking (on the Live Feeds) and supposedly called Dan a child molester. I didn’t hear her say it, but if she did, that’s awful, and I’d probably rather she be evicted and Jerry stay. But Jerry says awful things about houseguests as well. Anyway, Dan says he doesn’t take what people say about him in the game seriously because it’s in the heat of the moment, etc. So maybe he’ll not be bothered by what Michelle said. I think that ultimately I would rather Michelle stay over Jerry (I am not fond of Jerry).
And tonight is the fast forward – Which is Eviction, HOH, Veto, Eviction – all in one episode. I hope Dan can survive it. I’d like Dan, Renny, Keesha and Michelle (if Michelle can stop that awful trash talking) for final 4!

It’s Wednesday again and that means it’s time for more Pogo badges! I’ve been playing for badges a lot lately. I don’t always do the badges that Pogo assigns for the week, but I’ve been doing the personal badges every week.
The badges that Pogo selected this week are Jewel Juggler Badge on Ali Baba Slots and Air Acrobats Badge on Aces Up! I’ll most likely get the Jewel Juggler Badge, but I don’t know if I’ll get the Air Acrobats Badge as I’ve never played Aces Up! When I have time I don’t mind learning one of the Pogo games to get a badge, but I don’t know if I’ll have the time this week. I’ll look it over and see what it’s about.
I’m not sure what game I’ll play for my personal badge this week. Maybe Lottso! or Hearts.

I really need to start studying French and Spanish again. Last year I started studying both languages about 30 minutes each per day and I was really learning a lot. I can still remember a lot of the words and phrases I learned from last year.
I love culture and languages, and want to learn about many of them. So I really need to stop being so darn lazy and get with it.
Since I seem to have an easy time retaining some languages, once I’ve learned them – especially French - I should take that advantage and put it to good use.

I really used to like The Hills because it was a fun and interesting show, and I really liked Lauren Conrad (I still like Lauren). But I just can’t bring myself to watch it anymore. I think it’s mostly because of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, and to a lesser extent, Audrina Patridge. They just really get on my nerves! I was cool with Heidi being on The Hills, but after she got with Spencer, it just went downhill from there. Their story lines seem too fake and made up; even more than everything else on the show. Which is another thing I have a problem with. 90% of the show seems fake. If I want to watch fiction about rich, young, scandalous people, I’ll watch Gossip Girl.
And Audrina, I don’t know, she’s just always got on my nerves. Especially with the whole Justin-Bobby thing. Blah!
I really like Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth and Brody Jenner. And I like Whitney Port too, but she’s sort of boring and doesn’t add anything to the show IMO, but many people seem to like her and love her being on the show.
So, I’ll probably watch The Hills occasionally to see what Lauren is up to, but otherwise, I’m done with it. Now if Heidi and Spencer leave the show, maybe I’ll become a regular viewer again – or a semi-regular viewer. But most likely not even then, because I still have a huge problem with the show being 90% fake.

Wow, I haven’t posted about Big Brother 10 in about two weeks and I’ve missed writing about five episodes! I can’t even remember all of what happened on them. I just know that on episode 15, Libra was evicted (Yay!) and Renny won HOH. On episode 16 Renny nominated Jerry and April. On episode 17 Dan won POV and decided not to use it to save either Jerry or April. And on episode 18 April was evicted (Woohoo!).
I actually wouldn’t have minded if Jerry would have been evicted. But I think I was glad April was because her and Ollie got on my nerves. At first I thought they were cute together, but then it got annoying. LOL! Plus, I’ve never been all that fond of April. I used to like Ollie, but that didn’t last long.
On episode 19 Dan won HoH (Yay!) and nominated Jerry and Memphis for eviction. I liked when Dan said “If you’re going to be a monkey, be a gorilla” during the HOH comp. That’s from a song I used to love called “I’ll Bee Dat” by Redman. Redman rapped “If you gotta be a monkey, be a gorilla.”
Anyway, I knew when Dan was making that deal with Ollie during the HOH competition that his plans were to continue to appear to be weak and he was hoping that anyone who was nominated and/evicted would put most, or all, of the blame on Ollie. It’s an interesting concept and Dan better hope that it works or he’s in big trouble.
But I’m glad that Dan made the deal with Ollie; it certainly makes the game and season interesting and entertaining. I just hope it works out for him.
Dan is still my favorite houseguest this season. I would say at this point that he is one of my favorite BB houseguests of all time. Dan For The WIN! GO DAN!
I have a major pet peeve, and that’s when I sign up to a new forum, confirm my membership by email and then get a message stating that I have to wait to be approved by an administrator or moderator. Ugh! I would really love it if they would let me know that before I bother registering.
They could simply put a message on the registration page, or somewhere else on their forum, stating that if someone registers, they have to wait for approval. That would help people make up their minds about whether or not they want to register. In some cases I wouldn’t bother registering, but in other cases I would. It would depend on what the subject matter of the forum was.

Ryan Lochte is my new celebrity boyfriend so I thought I’d post this interview with him. I especially like the part where Ryan and Michael Phelps do the “Jeah” shout outs! LOL! I think that’s from Young Jeezy. I’m not a fan of that type of rap music, but I have to admit the Ryan and Michael “Jeahs” are cute!

I like Michael Phelps and hope he wins his 8th gold medal in these 2008 Summer Olympics. But I really would love it if the press gave more props to other athletes like Ryan Lochte and Aaron Peirsol. I mean, the media hype of Michael Phelps is so annoying. Michael Phelps is a great swimmer and I understand why he gets more coverage than other swimmers (and most other athletes), but I don’t think he deserves it at the expense of other great swimmers like Ryan Lochte and Aaron Peirsol, etc.
I hate when I’m watching an interview with other great swimmers and the interview always turns to Michael Phelps! Ugh that’s annoying. I like Ryan Lochte (even more than I like Michael Phelps) and it was annoying to have to hear questions about Michael Phelps during an interview Ryan Lochte had after he had won the gold medal for the 200 meter backstroke swimming competition. That was Ryan’s moment and Michael didn’t need to be talked about more than Ryan himself was talked about.
And it’s sort of the same with Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson. Shawn Johnson has been shown favoritism by the press since these 2008 Summer Olympics started. And even AFTER Nastia won the gold medal for the women’s all around in gymnastics, the press is still giving Shawn just as much attention as Nastia. I believe it most likely wouldn’t have been that way if Nastia had won silver and Shawn had won gold. Nastia would probably had been snubbed by the press even more.
I’ve read some opinions about the 2008 Summer Olympics coverage and see that some people feel that same as I do. That’s good, it’s nice to know everyone isn’t falling for the media’s hype and favoritism.
