Still Shocked Arizona Cardinals Going to the Super Bowl

By Chelle | January 29, 2009

I’m from Arizona, and I’m happy that the Arizona Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl!

But I am still very shocked that they actually made it to the Super Bowl! The Arizona Cardinals have, for so long, been a horrible football team. Sorry to Cards fans for saying that, but they’ve never gotten anywhere near the Super Bowl in most seasons!

I’m happy for them though. I’m not a huge football fan, but I watch it occasionally; I like most sports and watch various games sometimes.

So anyway, congratulations to the Arizona Cardinals!! I hope they win the Super Bowl!

Paul Blart Mall Cop! Looks Hilarious!

By Chelle | January 27, 2009

I’ve seen the previews for Paul Blart:Mall Cop, and it looks to be pretty hilarious. I love Kevin James (I’m a huge fan of “King of Queens“) and his movies are usually pretty good. So I’m really looking forward to seeing Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

It did well its opening weekend. I think it took in around $30 million or so. That’s pretty cool!

Check out the movie trailer!

Hebrew-Ivrit Update January 2009

By Chelle | January 26, 2009

Well, I have been studying Hebrew pretty much every day still.

But now I study mostly from the LearnHebrewPod.com podcasts and less from the Transparent Language Hebrew computer CD Roms.

I find that I like to listen to English/Hebrew conversations more and learn that way. Plus, LearnHebrewPod.com has transcripts of all of their conversations, so I can read and listen to everything.

Some language podcasts only have the audio and no print materials to go with it, so I really love that LearnHebrewPod.com has the printed materials and transcripts of all of their podcasts.

I still will study with Transparent Language, I just plan to use
LearnHebrewPod.com more often. I’d also like to buy the Rosetta Stone program in Hebrew and study with that too. As well and Pimsleur Hebrew CD, because I hear that’s a really great language course.

I think one of the most important things to learning a language and becoming as fluent as possible, is studying the language various ways and with various resources. But I guess that’s true with learning most anything.

So anyway, that’s my Hebrew update for January. I plan to do these monthly. So my February Hebrew update will be sometime late next month!

Only A Personal Pogo Badge This Week

By Chelle | January 24, 2009

So I checked out the Pogo badges for this week, and I don’t like the games they have up for badges.

So I guess I might go for the personal badge. At least with those I can pick a game I like and try to win a badge on that game.

I’m not sure which game I’m going to play. I’m thinking of playing Pop Fu! I like that game, and I think there are still some badges available for it that I haven’t won yet.

I hope next week Pogo has badges for games that I like!

I Got in on Some Great Deals for Dec08/Jan09

By Chelle | January 23, 2009

I was able to get in on some great deals for December 2008 – January 2009. I got the following deals.

1. An 8GB iPod Touch 2nd Generation for $144.00 (Retail value is $229.00)
In December 2008 LIVE.com had a 30% off promotion. If a customer used the “Buy it Now” option on eBay, they could get 30% on their purchase. So I bought the iPod Touch from an eBay seller who had the Ipod Touch available for $238.00. I purchased it with the LIVE.com 30% off, and then got an additional 10% off from an eBay promotion.

2. A 120GB Microsoft Zune Player for $167.00. (Retail value is $249.99)
This was also back in December 2008, and was on the LIVE.com “Buy It Now” eBay promotion as well. I didn’t get an additional 10% off on this one, because eBay only sent me one of their promo codes.

3. Learn Japanese Application for $0.00 (Retail value is $20.00)
This was free for download at the Apple app store for iPhone and iPod touch.

4. Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream -1 Pint for $0.00 (Retail value $4.99)
I’m not sure how much these cost – I think stores vary – but I think I paid nearly $5.00 for a pint one time. Anyhow, Ben and Jerry’s had coupons where people could save $3.00 on a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream/FroYo. I was able to get a few coupons, and then Wal-Mart happened to have a sale on B&Js for $3.00 each. So after buying with the coupon, I ended up getting the ice cream free!

5. The 99 Most Essential Beethoven Masterpieces MP3 Download for $0.00 (Retail value $7.99)
This was available on sale at Amazon MP3 for $1.99, but I had a $3.00 from Amazon.com, so I got the CD download free.

Paid Blogging

By Chelle | January 22, 2009

I’m really interested in paid blogging, but I’m not sure my blog meets requirements as yet.

I think I need to write about more things on my blogs, but I’m not really sure what to write sometimes.

I do like this blog though, and I think it would be fun to blog and earn some extra cash with paid blogging websites. So I really need to get moving and think of some things to write.

I do enjoy writing about the languages I’m studying and about Pogo games. Hey, that’s something. LOL! Perhaps I’ll write about those two subjects more often!

I Want to Get Some Pogo Badges This Week

By Chelle | January 21, 2009

I’ve gone two weeks without earning any Pogo Badges. I had been getting at least one every week, but I’ve been busy lately.

I did visit Pogo to see which games had badges for the week, but they were games I didn’t play.

However, usually when Pogo chooses badges for games I don’t play, I usually still try to get the personal badge; which is a badge where a player can choose to earn a badge from any game they want (that has a badge available).

Today Pogo will have the new badge challenges up, so I’ll see which games they are, and if it’s games I like, I’ll get a badge.

If not, I’d still at least like to get a personal badge this week!

No, Jack in the Box, It’s Not a New Deal

By Chelle | January 19, 2009

So I’ve seen the new Jack-in-the-Box commercial where Jack asks the President of the USA how to help the economy. Jack suggests something the President says wouldn’t be supported. So, Jack decides he’ll help the people in this tough economy with some value meal deal. 2 regular tacos, 1 Jumbo Jack and 1 regular french fries for $2.99.

And while that’s all well and good, this deal is not new! I’ve actually ordered that meal before – years ago! And for about the same price!

A person can get those items for $1.00 each anytime on the Jack in the Box value menu,  at least the tacos and Jumbo Jack, and the fries don’t cost much more. So putting them together in some “new” meal deal, and saying it’s to help people out in these tough economic times is a bit silly.

I don’t know, perhaps the fries are a larger size, but I don’t think so.

Well, I like Jack in the Box; it is perhaps my favorite fast food restaurant, but that “new deal” is bogus.

Hurry, Big Brother 11! Hurry!

By Chelle | January 11, 2009

It’s been almost five months since Big Brother 10 USA ended, and now I’m wanting season 11 to start.

I even watched Big Brother 1 Israel and Big Brother 4 Finland (mostly the live feeds for both), but it isn’t the same when you don’t understand the language! LOL!

In a way I would have liked it if BB11 had started this January or February, but ultimately I’m glad it won’t be on until summer.

I didn’t really like BB: ‘Til Death Do You Part (season 9) airing last Feb – April. It was a cool idea at first, but eventually it just seemed so out of place. I especially didn’t like the “couples” aspect of it. Houseguests had to play as couples instead of individuals; hence “‘Til Death Do You Part.”

They got rid of the couples rule mid-season, and people were able to play as individuals, but it was too late for my favorite houseguest, Alex, by then as he had been evicted, because he was coupled with the annoying Amanda. And since the houseguests wanted Amanda out, Alex had to leave with her.

It was an okay season, but not one of the best. Oh, speaking of BB:TDDYP, apparently a TV station in India will show the entire season soon. Out of all of the BB USA seasons, that’s the one they choose? Perhaps they got a discount? Haha! Just kidding. But seriously, there are so many BB USA seasons better than season 9. I think season 1 and 5 are the only seasons that weren’t as good as TDDYP.

Anyway, I suppose I can wait for BB 11. I hope it has a fun and interesting cast. I liked the most recent cast a lot (although the BB8 USA cast is the one I think I’ll remember and have a sort of affection for the most – well compared to the other BB houseguests so far anyway). But BB10 got back to the basics and I liked that. Dan was great! He was my favorite from the 2nd week the cast was in the house. I hope my favorite wins again for BB11!

Shalom!

By Chelle | January 4, 2009

Just dropping by my blog to say Hello! Shalom! I’m still studying Hebrew and can now say a few short sentences! I only study 20 or so minutes a day, but now that I have a Zune player to store my files on I plan to study much more now. At least that’s the plan! :)

Shalom!
